Dawn Burns, DNP, APRN-BC

Dawn Burns, DNP, APRN-BC, is a board-certified urogynecology and pelvic health nurse practitioner at Northeast Ohio Urogynecology in Akron, Ohio. As a partner to Dr. South, Dawn brings her skills and expertise in women’s health care to deliver the best treatment for each patient who comes into the practice. 

Dawn began her career in nursing by attending Aultman Hospital School of Nursing in Canton, Ohio, where she received her RN diploma. She then went to Malone University in Canton, Ohio, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. During her career as a registered nurse, she has worked in emergency/trauma and cardiovascular intensive care areas.

Dawn’s interest in lifelong learning and dedication to helping others, she completed her Master of Science in nursing (with a subspecialty in adult primary care) and Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Kent State University. As a nurse practitioner and educator, she has extensive clinical experience in nursing education (undergraduate and graduate levels), intensive care, trauma, urology, women’s health, cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, and primary care medicine settings. 

When she is not helping patients with their women’s health concerns, Dawn enjoys spending time with her family, yoga, hiking, and traveling.
